The new encoders series MEM40-B and MEM-Bus with IO-Link interface are designed to seamlessly integrate into network architectures based on this protocol.
IO-Link is a point-to-point communication protocol enabling simplified communication between sensors and Ethernet or fieldbus networks on production lines. It is compatible with most industrial fieldbuses, making it easy to integrate into existing systems.

IO-Link encoders are easy to install thanks to the reduced cabling required by the protocol and the auto-parameterization function of network devices.
IO-Link encoders offer all the typical features of smart sensors, such as the diagnostic function signalling any errors in parameterization, position, and temperature, and the possibility set operating parameters – the number of revolutions, steps per revolution, rotation direction, and a preset. They are available in a multiturn version with a 29-bit resolution. The electrical connection is made with an M12 connector. The robust aluminum housing ensures a high degree of protection, allowing for use in even the most harsh industrial environments.
The MEM40B and MEM41B encoders are extremely compact (41 mm diameter) and available with either a male shaft or a hollow shaft with a 10 mm diameter. The MEM-Bus series, which has a 58 mm diameter with a male shaft, is available with a round clamping or synchro flange, or with a square 63.5 × 63.5 mm flange
.
The MEM520B encoder can be paired with WPS or WDS mechanics to create a wire-actuated absolute encoder with an IO-Link interface and strokes ranging from 2.3 to 15 meters.
